Witney Crafted Repair is the trading name of Witney Workshops Ltd, a small team working from a bench in Witney. We take on the repairs that other jewellers send away: worn claws, snapped chains, stones that have worked loose, clasps that no longer hold. Most of it is fiddly, and that suits us.
Our work starts with an honest look at the piece. Some jobs need a full rebuild, some need twenty minutes and a new jump ring. We will tell you which, what it involves, and what it costs before anything is touched. If a repair is not worth doing, we say so.
We work in gold, silver and platinum, and we handle old pieces with the care they deserve. Family rings, inherited brooches, watches that have been in a drawer for years — these often need matching metal, hand-cut replacements or a setting rebuilt stone by stone. The aim is always the same: keep the character of the original and make it wearable again.
Everything happens on site. That means you can talk to the person doing the work, ask questions about a setting, and see how a repair is coming along. It also means we can turn around simple jobs quickly, without a parcel going back and forth in the post.
